Not all meetings are internal. Skype for Business allows customers and partners to join meetings even though they aren't a part of your Skype for Business environment. These external joiners can still enjoy a rich Skype experience using the Microsoft Lync / Skype for Business Web Join experience. However people might be joining a Skype for Business meeting for the first time. Is their network good enough? Is their headset appropriate? Or are they trying to join from a public wifi hotspot, using their laptop microphone and speakers? You'll only know for sure when they join your meeting!
Project Steenbok addresses this problem by providing a pre-meeting testing experience allowing users to test their network and devices. From simple tests checking whether appropriate firewall ports are open to allow content sharing or testing connection speeds, to advanced quality tests analysing complex metrics such as round-trip time, jitter, packet loss etc. Project Steenbok provides the ability for users to self-test before joining metings, not during them.
Available as a Service, or installed locally
Project Steenbok can be delivered either as a fully hosted service, with a custom sub-domain to provide a familiar link to users which you can embed into meeting invitations, or installed on-premise. On-premise installations will provide more accurate results against your environment.
The look and feel can be customised with your logo and brand colours to maintain a corporate image. Other white-label options are available on request.
